Family Fun Fridays

Fun Fridays will restart on Friday the 2nd May, starting at 6.30pm.   Last year we ran play sessions for younger sailors and novice racing for older sailors / parents etc, (weather permitting).
 
We hope to do the same again this year, however we will be looking for help from volunteers to assist us, for instance with running the novice racing.   If anyone thinks they can help out with a session or two, please drop me an email.
 
The play sessions for younger sailors are instructor led, and there will be a charge of £6 a session for these.   Sailors need to be at least stage 2 standard to join in.

Friday Night Novice Racing

As part of fun Fridays, we will be running a novice race series.   The starts for these races will be at approximately 7.30pm in the Bay, but prior to this we will be running an on land coaching session starting from approx 6.30pm.   Each week we will look at a different aspect of racing including things like how to get a good start, racing rules, tactics, how to set up your boat to go faster etc.   The emphasis will be on fun, and improving everyone's skills over the course of the summer.   If you don't have your own boat but want to take part, boat hire would be an option.   Give Angie (07812380834) a call to see what boats are available.

We will aim to run 16 races (depending on the weather) and  your best 8 results will be counted to make up a series, and pick out our novice winners for the year.  

Topper Traveller 2008

Peterhead Sailing Club are hosting a one day topper traveller to count towards the series.   This will be on Sun 5th Oct.   On Sat 4th October we will play host to a one day topper training event open to all topper sailors.   Details to follow.

Buchaness Model Yacht Club

Would you like to try model yacht racing?   The Buchaness model yacht club race the 1 metre class in Peterhead.   It's a great way of sharpening up your rules awareness.   They sail all year round, and have a club boat so that you can try before you buy.   For more information click here.
