Beginners
Introduction (Stage 1) Ages
8-14

This course will teach you the very basics. What kit to wear for sailing, how to rig up your boat,
how to launch and how to sail across the wind.
We will also try to squeeze in as many games and as much fun as we
possibly can.

2, Ages 9-14

This course will increase your skills, more independence, more points of
sail, and of course more fun and games.

Summer holiday week, combined stage 1 and 2, Ages 9-14 |
This course will combine the stage 1 and 2 courses over 5 days midweek. There should be plenty of time for learning new things and playing sailing games.

3, Ages 10-14

You will try to cover all the points of sail, five essentials, man
overboard, racing and lots more new stuff.

Stage
4,
Ages 10-15
|
Stage 4 introduces two man boats. We will aim to refresh all
the things you learned in stage 3 but practice them in doublehanders.
It is a step up from stage 3, and manoeuvres such as man overboard need to be
even better than they would be for stage 3 to complete stage 4.

RYA Start Racing Course 10-16 |
This course will introduce racing using topper sailing dinghies, and give lots of opportunities to practice and improve boathandling and racing skills. We will include practice of starts, racing rules, boat set up and sail tuning. Lots of things to make you go faster! It follows the RYA Start Racing syllabus from the National Sailing Scheme. Sailors should be at stage 3 or 4 standard before coming on this course.

Scottish Week

Peterhead Sailing club will be running taster sessions for youngsters aged 8-14 during Scottish week. Details of sessions are as follows:
Each session costs £10 and needs to be booked in advance.

A course will not run if there are not enough applicants on it to make it
financially viable. We aim to
give as much warning as possible in these circumstances. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to lack of
bookings or other circumstances. In
this instance, a full refund will be given.
No refunds will be given for an individual failing to complete a course.
In the event of you requiring a cancellation, we will do our utmost to
sell your place again and if successful, a full refund will be given.
Otherwise, a 50% refund will be given for cancellations with more than 21
days notice from the start date of the course. If less than 21 days from the start date, no refund
will be given.
