Powerboat Courses 2012

The RYA powerboat level 2 certificate covers all the basics you need to know for small powerboat handling. It looks at the IRPCS, launch and recovery, choice of boat and engine for purpose, weather and tide, and lots of practical exercises such as coming alongside and man overboard drills.

The course takes two days, although a direct assessment option is available for those with powerboating experience already. A direct assessment could be covered in an evening. For more information on this, please contact us: angie@peterheadsailingclub.com or phone 07812380834.

We will be running level 2 powerboat courses in 2011 over weekends. We may also be able to put on a powerboat level 2 course at other times to suit if we have a minimum of 2 applicants.

For your own comfort it is recommended that you bring a change of clothes and waterproofs. We have buoyancy aids available, and wetsuits, but you will normally be much comfier wearing waterproofs as oppose to wetsuits.

Powerboat level 2 certificates now need to be registered centrally with the RYA, and you will need to bring a passport sized photo with you to go on your certificate.

Booking Conditions

A course will not run if there are not enough applicants on it to make it financially viable. We aim to give as much warning as possible in these circumstances. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to lack of bookings or other circumstances. In this instance, a full refund will be given. No refunds will be given for an individual failing to complete a course. In the event of you requiring a cancellation, we will do our utmost to sell your place again and if successful, a full refund will be given. Otherwise, a 50% refund will be given for cancellations with more than 21 days notice from the start date of the course. If less than 21 days from the start date, no refund will be given.

RYA Instructors / Senior Instructors do not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury suffered by persons and / or their property arising out of or during the course of their activities whilst training and / or coaching and / or instructing unless such injury, loss or damage was caused by or resulted from negligence or deliberate act.
